Grading Criteria
Lab Assignments - 20%
Quizzes - 15%
Writing Assignments - 10%
Projects - 20%
Course Project - 10%
Final Exam - 25%
Lab Assignments - worth 20% will consist of different projects from creating designs using strictly fonts, customizing your fonts and creating page layouts for magazine spreads and brochures.
Quizzes - worth 15%, I may give quizzes from time to time within the elven week course. On subject matters that we have covered within Adobe Indesign as well as Adobe Illustrator.
Writing Assignments - Worth 10%. You our required to bring Magazines to cut out ads. 3 each week, and you must write one to two sentences on why you like the layout of that design.
Projects - Worth 20% - You will have 3 projects that you will have to complete throughout the course along with your final course project, totaling 4 projects. Each project will vary. Cover Type face design. Magazine layouts etc.
Final Course Project - Worth 10%, The final course project will consist of original design graphics and headers to create a magazine article layout. You will use multiple software programs to complete this task (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign.)
Final Exam - Worth 25% - We will review over the final exam the 10th week and take the final at the beginning of class during the 11th week.
First half of the course we are going to cover Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to learn how to create custom logos and designs along with creating your own style of fonts.
Second half of the course we will work with Adobe Indesign to create page layouts for magazine covers and brochures.
Students are to sign up for a photobucket account. - Students will post their lab assignments in the post work section.
