What's the goal?
Our goal for this class is to work as a team. Of course we could write crazy story ideas all quarter long and we would probably have a bunch of cool ideas floating around in our head and on paper. But our ultimate goal is to create the ground work for a working mod or better yet a working playable demo to a game you guys created starting in this class.
Lets try to crawl before we walk. Lets start of with something within our reach.
Having a website as a home base for this future mod.
A standard HTML based website for your concept game or mod would be nice in the future.
Summary - A synopsis or summary of your story.
News or Updates - Updates of your progress.
Features - What types of features are you hoping to achieve.
Downloads - Possible maps or beta version you can test out to the public.
Video's - Show casing game levels, characters, vehicles.
Images - to show case levels and models that you have designed.
Character, Vehical and weapon concepts. - That you designed.
Bio's - for your main characters, villians, monsters etc.
Staff - Bio's of your team - and for new team members in the future.
Forums - Where your team and outsiders and communicate with you. trade secrets designs and information to help your process.
Here's some examples of mod websites.

Lets talk about different types of games. and come up with one within our reach.
Lab 01. - Writing a plot (Synopsis) for a game story.
I want you to start brainstorming a plot for a game story/ level.
It might help to start thinking of the basic elements.
Groups will be made of of teams of two.
1. Hero - male or female.
2. Villain - male or female.
3. Basic NPC characters - Characters to help drive the story?
4. Basic plot.. - Whats your hero's main focus or goal?
5. Basic Weapon - Something he may start off with?
6. The main world / Level - Is it fantasy, alien or real world?
After you come up with your rough plot / synopsis, I want you to start drawing out some concepts or your main hero and villain and a few NPCs, that help drive your basic story.
Also create concepts of your level that you are designing.
Great Examples of Design.

Once the basic guidelines are layed out. Everyone bring something to the table.
Bring in different ideas and possible concepts for NPC's
Bring in different Idea's for weapons and Items.
Most import bring in some ideas that might help drive the story.
Next week I expect to see some ideas concepted out on paper
If its an NPC character alittle background about them, and how they can tie into the story etc.
