Unit 1. – Introduction to 3D Studio Max.
1. Students are to model a basic 3D Room.
2. Room must have 5 completed sets.
Example: Entertainment Center complete with decorations.
Example: End Tables with Lamps/ Coffee table with Books Glasses etc.
3. Students must learn Ambient Occlusion render.
4. Students must render me 3 different angles through a camera of their room design.
5. Students must post there renders in there Planet GTM thread.
Unit 2. – Still Life Scene: Polygon Modeling
1. Wine Bottle
2. Wine Glass
3. Barrel
4. Apples
5. Students must compile all objects and render a scene. Must have Ambient Occlusion render.
Unit 3. – Dresser and Lamp: Polygon techniques.
1. Students are to model the dresser
2. Students are to model the Lamp.
Unit 4. – 3 Vases.
1. Students are to model the 3 Vases. Using Spline techniques.
Unit 5 – Chandelier : Lathing and Lofting techniques.
1. Students are to model a chandelier using Lofting techniques.
Unit 6 - 3 Point Lighitng / Day Light System
1. Students are to learn how to 3 Point Light Objects.
2. Students are to learn Photometric Lighting and Daylight System.
Unit 7 – Introduciton to Texturing.
Students are to learn the basics of outdoor lighting and shadow map projectors.
Outdoor Lighting 3D Max file.
This file can only be used for this class, you may not use any of these models other then this class lesson assignment.
Students will learn how to properly use 3D Studio Max Lights for exterior set-ups.
Directional Lights
Projector Maps for faking shadow's
Volume light effects.
Len's effects for glows.
